Summary Reports Published for Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm Extension.

The firm behind Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm have published reports regarding the possible extension of the project.

Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm is made up of 67 wind turbines, 32km off the coast of North Norfolk, which currently power more than 410,000 homes.

LRS were appointed to provide referencing services for the original cable connection part of the project.

As part of the process, early proposals were presented locally, and online, for the community and stakeholders to feed back on.

Topics of Consideration

The first phase of the consultation ran through July and August. It collected 300 pieces of feedback, of which the majority were positive towards the expansion.

Key topics of consideration included the management of the traffic and access. Secondly, noise and vibration during the construction of the onshore infrastructure.

In addition, nature conservation, visual impacts both onshore and offshore were highlighted. Consequently, the cumulative effects of other infrastructure developments in Norfolk were highlighted as areas of particular importance to the local community.

Phase two of the consultation will include a more detailed report, ongoing surveys and investigations in the Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR) in Spring 2021. This will accompany visualisations of what the projects will look like onshore and from the coast.

Kari-Hege Mørk, Equinor’s Project Manager for the Sheringham and Dudgeon Extension Projects said:

"Engaging early with communities local to our two projects has been valuable for capturing feedback to inform the next phase. All of the feedback has been thoroughly reviewed and is being considered as we refine our proposals."
