LRS are supporting Sefton Council with the M58 Junction 1 Improvement Scheme by providing Land Referencing to support the CPO.

The M58 Junction 1 improvement scheme involves the construction of missing slip roads, providing northbound ‘off-slip’ and southbound ‘on-slip’ roads to help improve journey times between Maghull and North Liverpool. The scheme will reduce traffic on the A59 and some residential roads and facilitate potential future development in the Maghull area.

Sefton Council received an offer of funding from the Liverpool City Region Local Growth Fund for £5.5m toward the scheme in 2016.

Negotiations with Land Owners are ongoing to try to acquire the necessary land to enable the upgrades to the M58 Junction 1, without using the approved CPO powers.
